# Bookd

> Bookd (bookd.direct) is a direct-booking platform for independent hotels, B&Bs, inns, guesthouses and vacation rentals. Travellers find a place and send a booking request straight to the property, on the web or from inside ChatGPT, Claude and other AI assistants that support custom connectors. The property confirms the booking, takes payment and looks after the guest. Bookd is operated by Caius Data LLC, Sheridan, Wyoming, USA.

## Key facts for guests
- Who you book with: the property. The stay contract is between the guest and the property. Bookd is not a party to the stay.
- Who you pay: the property, directly. Bookd does not take guest payments and does not handle refunds or disputes; the property's own cancellation policy applies and is shown before you send a request.
- When it is confirmed: when the property accepts your request. You get an email, and a link to check the status.
- Availability: read from the property's own calendar or property system.
- Listings marked "Book direct" are booked with the property. Some search results on bookd.direct are partner hotels (Trip.com, Stay22); those are booked and paid on the partner's site, under its terms, and Bookd may earn a commission.

## Book from an AI assistant

- Claude: Customize → Connectors → + Add → Add custom connector, paste the MCP URL, Continue, choose "No sign in", Add.
- ChatGPT: Plugins → + → Add custom MCP server, paste the MCP URL (custom MCP servers depend on your ChatGPT plan and workspace settings).
- Gemini (US only): on a computer at gemini.google.com, Settings → Connected Apps (or Personal Intelligence → Connected Apps) → under Custom apps, Add a custom app, paste the MCP URL, Next, then follow the on-screen steps. Google requires 18+, a personal Google Account (not work or school), English and Keep Activity on. Then ask in your own words, e.g. "Find a B&B in <town> for two, <dates>, under <budget> a night."
Bookd properties always come first. If no Bookd property matches a place, search_stays returns partner hotel links instead (a Trip.com hotel list and a Stay22 hotel map for that place and dates, accommodation only). Those are partner hotels, not Bookd properties: you book and pay on Trip.com or the partner's site, under its terms, and Bookd may earn a commission.
